Initially created by a private enterprise in 1963, this artificial lake now belongs to the . Cevennes national park.
A signed pathway leads around the lake (2km) and there are 3 large explanatory boards explaining the role of the transhumance, the diverse flora and fauna and the peat bogs.

A brochure is available from the Park Information centre in Le Vigan or from the tourist office. The walk is an easy one and provides an excellent opportunity for observing a rich and wide variety of insects, birds, frogs, toads and plants.

How to get there : Take the D48 from Le Vigan, turn left at the col du Minier on the tarred forest road. The car park is 5km further on and it is from there that the path leads to the lake.
